Annotation:
This story tells of a stubborn boy who grew up to be a very talented, stubborn man.  Handel's boyish stubbornness led to him being musically trained at the palace.  Handel wrote very well known musical pieces.

Personal Reaction:
While I was already familiar with the musical works of Handel, I had never had the occasion to study about his life.  This book is straight and to the point, and often very abrupt.  The story features anecdotes of some of the more memorable public events Handel participated in and organized.  I was shocked to learn that a composer actually gained fame while they were still alive.  Handel is not as popular as Beethoven or Mozart, but he achieved fame during his lifespan, whereas those two famous musicians did not.

My Top 10
