Annotation:
Ernie is a stage magician who falls onto hard times when his girlfriend leaves him and his brother, a fellow magician dies. He reevaluates his life to find that life is still worth living.
Personal Reaction:
This book was very hard to read, as it had a very depressing theme. I was surprised by the return of the girlfriend in the end of the story. Most of the book left me feeling confused, but the story was very well told.
